In late September 2024, Calum Glenny,the Avid Travellrer started a whirlwind 72-hour journey to Madrid with good friends, starting with a dynamic, history-filled city exploration. We settled the weekend with a see to Teatro Flamenco Madrid. This intimate location showcased the raw feeling and appeal of flamenco dancing, offering a perfect cultural capstone.

Throughout the trip, we delighted in memorable meals at regional dining establishments like Casa Verona and Casa Alberto, where we indulged in authentic Spanish meals such as anchovies in olive oil, croquettes, and even the well known calamari sandwich. The Mercado de San Miguel was another standout, using a peek into Spain's abundant culinary customs.
